1 Funzi Dhow adventure

This idyllic get-away-from-it-all desert island camp is a tropical paradise set in the azure
waters of the famed Indian Ocean. To get there you travel from Bodo Village on the South Coast by motorised dhow to the island - and you may have to wade the last few metres if the tide is low! then a short walk along a sandy woodland path brings you to the beautiful camp site.

The tiny local donkeys may pay you a visit; peacocks may strut through the camp, and chattering monkeys may greet you from overhead as they swing through the indigenous torest canopy.

The main areas include a makuti coveted dining area where you will experience the best seafood available as well as a choice of international dishes, fresh fruit and vegetables and home baked bread and cakes; a bar offering a full range of drinks including freshly squeezed juices

During the day explore the meandering estuary of the Ramisi River by flat bottomed motorised dinghy - a secret world of shafts of sunlight and shadow,

home to sleeping crocs and a myriad birds, including a huge colony of kingfishers; perhaps meet dolphins in Funzi Bay; anchor off the sandbar for a swim,

look for turtles along the long stretches of beach or explore the nearby Funzi Village.
